An Unforgettable Life Experience......

A life experience……

Just sharing a life experience with you, guys. Two weeks before I had attended the first job interview I had in my life. It was a new experience and I thought I would share it with you. It was on 8th September 2021. I feel not to disclose any information about the interview since we are only looking for the experiences I went through that day.  In the morning, my heart was thumping very fast, as I didn’t know how the interview will be and what questions they would ask at that time. Although, I prepared myself, finished the morning obligatory things, had a quick bath and got up dressed formal, with shirts ironed clearly and tucked inside. Because appearance and personality, are the first things the interviewer would look up. They should fall for me by looking at the appearance. I had my breakfast; a cup of tea and some Indian Rotti. The interview was scheduled at 11:00 in the morning so, I started my journey from home, uttering some prayers, an hour before since there could be a chance of high traffic and road block on the way.

Throughout the journey in the car, to the spot where the interview would be taking place, my heart was in dire panic and thumping rapidly. I ensured over and over again, that I had taken the necessary certificates and documents that were asked to bring over and submitted before the panel of interview. My friends, relatives were wishing me good luck through online messengers. Putting trust in god, I calmed myself and told my mind that everything will be okay. Just you need the confidence to face it. The interview was actually a second procedure for the concerned job appointment. The first was a written examination that was conducted in-person at a local venue, far off from my home. Current affairs, general knowledge, maths, science, psychology and English were asked during the test. I had no belief that I would pass that exam out of forty students who had applied for this vacant post, since math and science are not my concerns. A week or two after the exam, a call from the concerned authority contacted me through my telephone, saying you have successfully passed the examination and you have been selected for the interview. Further details will be intimated very soon. I could not breathe, as I was struck by this news. I informed my parents, and family members and they jumped with great contentment.

Now coming to the current situation, the day of the interview. I arrived at the venue at the scheduled time and was asked to sit in a hall along with the other interviewees. I could see the panic and frustration on their faces like me. We waited in the hall for a long period of time, when the concerned persons announced that the interview will be delayed, please come back after half an hour. I went outside, breath in fresh air and relaxed.  Since there is a long time for the interview to begin, I decided to walk to the nearby café and have some tea and snacks. Spending the half an hour in idle, I returned to the venue. My batch was asked to sit in another room. I was the second to go to the interview hall from my batch. Uttering all the prayers in mind, putting trust in god, calming myself, I stepped into the interview hall, my heart pounding in my throat. i could witness a air of tension and anxiety in the hall.  There were three interviewers in the panel. They firstly, grabbed my certificates and documents for verification. I was then asked to write my personal information on the board. One by one, they shot questions at me. Gladly I could answer almost many of the questions. From their facades I could tell that, they were satisfied with me and with my answers. All of the anxieties and fear rode off.

This is the first job interview experience that I had to go through in my life. Whether I would pass or fail the interview, it did not really matter to me. This relish moment will remain unforgettably in my life. Hoping to look forward much more great experiences in my coming days, I live on to tell a tale.

Thank you!
